Hooks have an opening of 1 inch. Stones are a mix of colors and sizes, the largest is about 1 1/2 inches wide. These hooks do have the extra ball on the end that goes over your shower rod - you'll need to give them a bit of a push to pop them on. It's designed to keep them from falling off the bar!
